The people of the Breman Esiam-Ajumako-Denkyira constituency have been hit hard with many different diseases and health problems.  Medicines were distributed to address most of those health problems. The elderly, children and single women all received free health care.  Together with the King of the area, we visited the clinic and donated medicine to the clinic. The refugees at the Buduburam refugee camp were also blessed with receiving medicine. There was a struggle distributing the ointment, because the camp has been going through a difficult time with wounds and rashes. The ointment came at the right time to help address that problem.  The entire community of Breman Esiam-Ajumako-Denkyira constituency, the refugee camp and the people of Amasaman extend their heartfelt gratitude and thanks to the sponsors and the donors.  Thank you once again and may the Lord continues to bless you to help us provide for the poor and the needy in our society and program, thank you.

The older women and older men in the Buduburam refugee camp are dying every day of hunger. Madam Mary Caper and her six children have been without food for weeks. The kids roam around begging for food.  In fact the entire population of older people have no means of survival.  It is sad and terrible.  The food shipped was the only source of food for the refugees, orphans and our older people.  There was tears of joy when they received the food.  Without this food there could have been more deaths. Please we need more food. Thank you for the donors and the sponsors for helping us to save lives. GOD bless you.

These shipments of medicines were added to the medicines on container No. FSCU320437 and were distributed among the people of Amassaman, Kpone and the Hospital at the Buduburam refugee camp. The older people in the refugee camp clap and shout for joy, for the arrival of these medicines.  There were tears for the simple reason that they will receive free health care. Thousands of needy people and the disadvantage in the above areas were given free medicine  and treatment because of the donated medicine.  The Regional Minister, Hon. Nii Afotey Agbo and the Dep. Minister for Communication, Hon. Ernest Atuquaye Armah and all the refugees at the Buduburam refugee camp extend their heartfelt gratitude and thank you to the sponsors and the donors.  Thank you once again and may the Lord continues to bless you to help us provide for the poor and the needy in our society and program, thank you.

Ghana has a population of over 25 million people. Out the 25 million people less than ten percent of the population can afford to pay for decent health care.  Without money the poor cannot afford to pay for health care treatment. Thousands of people died yearly of simply health related deceases in Ghana because they do not have the resources to pay a huge amount of money for treatment.  This is worse at the Buduburam refugee camp where thousands of refugees from Liberia and Ivory Coast are abandoned.  With these donations of medicine, thousands of the poor from these constituencies and areas received free medicine and healthcare.  In the Buduburam refugee camp thousands of refugees from Liberia and Ivory Coast are receiving free medicine and treatment because of the donations, likewise the poor and the needy in these areas of the country, are being provided with free medicine also.

Some of the Liberian refugees have been in Ghana for more than twenty years and can’t afford to buy shoes of any kind. Most have develop gangrene or foot sore diseases due to walking barefoot. With the arrival of the shoes, lives were touched and there were tears among the refugees and most of the villages where those shoes were distributed. It was a dream come true. The unfortunate thing is many did receive a pair of shoes. We are appealing for more  shoes to distribute among the Liberian refugees in Buduburam refugee camp in Ghana who can’t go back.

For years these areas has been deprived of many basic human needs. Their clinics have no proper medicine and the death toll has been rising.  A simple sickness, like the common cold could easily kill them, as could typhoid, malaria, & high fever, just to name few.  So, with the arrival of the medicine the communities erupted with joy. The announcement went around informing them the need to come and receive treatment for free.  It was incredible, because for weeks the clinics and the hospital were filled with people. We need more medicine, especially for the Buduburam refugee camp in Ghana, where the Liberian refugees are situated.  Thanks.

The Liberian refugees benefited greatly. These are people abandoned without any hope for the future. With arrival of the goods, thousands received clothing and hundreds received bicycles. Their children and babies received good clothing, shoes, school bags, etc. Their women were blessed   with clothes and for the first time with sewing machines.  School chairs and tables were sent to other parts of the country, where children had to stand while studying. It was a blessing.  Together we sang a song and said “Thank you GOD for remembering us, for with you our dreams will come to pass and our tears and sorrows will one day be gone. Please GOD bless the donors and the sponsors”.
Many of the Liberian refugees go to the bed hungry especially those 50 years and above, who can’t hustle in the refugee camp.  The arrival of these foods  has given them hope, joy, and gladness in their heart.  Just knowing someone cares for them, they said, “We will  pray for the donors and the sponsors of the food, for we know now that for about a month we won’t  go to bed hungry”. Father John and the kids sang “Praises to the Lord, Amen”.

Liberian grandmothers have been struggling for food for their grand children and themselves. Almost all of them go to bed each day without having eaten for many days. Most felt seriously ill at the point of death, with no money to see a doctor. Then the food from CFFC arrived at the camp. Immediately, we boiled oats, put in sugar and started feeding them: The children first, then the grandmothers. After they were fed, we heard them singing and praising GOD.  The rest of the food was distributed to them and they went on singing and dancing.  They praised GOD and CFFC while going to their various homes, singing “We praise you, Oh Lord. We thank CFFC. GOD bless the donor, the sponsor and the shipper for saving our lives.  Thank you, Jesus.”

A sad thing happens in the town of Breman Esiam and the Buduburam refugee camp in Kasoa Ghana, West Africa.  In Breman Esiam, many children go to school without food. You’ll hear them crying and when asked why, they’ll say “we’ve not eaten”.  Over three hundred children now receive a nutritious hot meal each, per day. Many of the Liberian refugee children and their mothers, in Ghana, go to bed without food.  It is very sad indeed and a difficult situation: No money, no food, they go to bed in tears. With the arrival of the food, the whole refugee camp shook.  There were people lining up for their share of the food.  Women, children, the elderly, young and old, all came and received their share.  Madam Kebbeh, in tears says, “Thank you donors and sponsors for saving our lives, please continue shipping us more food, medicines, clothes, soaps, sandals, shoes and toys”. Their President Ms. Nancy Toe said “Now our grand mothers, women and children will have food to eat before going to bed. Thank you, Jesus. Amen”.

Many of the Liberian refugee children in Ghana have no text books for studies.  It is very tough for them when they are told to buy books.  With no money for food, healthcare and no good drinking water, how can they afford to buy books? With the arrival of the donation of books, the camp went wild with joy and happiness for their children. In fact, there’s nothing so sweet as when one of the students hugged the books and said “you are mine forever”.  Ms. Kullah, their Vice President said “Now our children can also learn and be educated. Thank you, Jesus. Amen”.

Most of the elders in the above community are cocoa farmers. Recently due to the price, the government purchases the cocoa after a whole year of labor and the farmers end up with nothing.  The government is more interested in vegetable farming, since they are encouraging a healthy lifestyle, including more vegetables.  Upon the arrival of the seeds, there was joy echoed in all the surrounding villages. People were asking for more. It was a wonderful feeling among them, because this has given them something to celebrate.  Their hope was revived with the opinion that they can now provide for themselves and their grandchildren. We need more of the seeds, since other villages approached MDRP staff for seeds.

The queen of Breman Esiam Traditional Council, Nana Efuah Essiwah II, testified and said “these shoes will save my people from sole diseases, such as Escherichia, Coli (E Coli), Klebsiella Pneumonia, Serratia Ficaria, and gangrene, just to name few, that have been affecting them and binding their feet.  Thanks to the donors and the sponsors for such a huge relief.  Thank you once again.”  The president and the people of Buduburam refugee camp were so happy one lady just said “tomorrow I will be able to walk and walk and feel no pain. Thank you, Jesus and God bless the donors”.
